Mr. Campbell is a partner in the law firm of Strip, Hoppers, Leithart, McGrath & Terlecky Co., LPA.
He graduated with a Juris Doctor from The University of Akron, where he was selected to the Akron Law Review Board of Editors. Prior to law school, he graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 1972, he began law practice handling a variety of trial matters as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Franklin County, Ohio.
He is admitted to the practice of law before the United States Supreme Court; the United States Northern and Southern District Courts of Ohio; and the Ohio Supreme Court.
As a highly rated trial lawyer, he concentrates his practice on civil litigation regarding business matters, domestic relations, personal injury and probate. In recognition of excellence in advocacy, Mr. Campbell is a certified member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is limited to attorneys who have won million dollar verdicts and/or settlements for their clients. Additionally, he has been nominated and recognized in Columbus CEO Top Lawyers.
Mr. Campbell has been a continuous member of the Columbus, the Ohio and the American Bar Associations for over forty years. He served as a member of several local committees, including Judiciary, Family Law, Common Pleas and Fee Arbitration, for which he has served as Chair.
Active in the Community
As a former Dublin Mayor, Mr. Campbell has been active in community affairs in Central Ohio. He was elected to two terms on the Dublin City Council, including a term as Mayor of Dublin. He was previously elected to the Dublin-Washington Township Merger Commission, for which he served as Vice-Chair.
Mr. Campbell was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Central Ohio Municipal Council and selected as a member of the Public Safety Committee of the National League of Cities and the Ohio Mayors’ Association. He was appointed by Dublin to serve as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Parks and Recreation Committee and Community Plan Steering Committee.
In recognition of his service to the Dublin community, Mr. Campbell was selected as Grand Marshal of the 1998 Dublin July Fourth Celebration and Honoree of 2000 Dublin Emerald Ball.
Mr. Campbell is past-President of the Board of Trustees of the Dublin Convention and Visitors Bureau. He participated in several community and school levies, and was treasurer of the successful Washington Township Fire Levy in 2015. He also served as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the Dublin Counseling Center.
Currently, Mr. Campbell is a member of the Dublin Area Chamber of Commerce, Dublin AM Rotary, the University of Akron Dean’s Club, the Ohio State University Alumni Association and President’s Club, and Dublin Community Church. Since 2010, he has served as Magistrate for Dublin Mayor’s Court.
He is married to Robin, has two adult children, including firm associate Kristie A. Campbell, and four grandchildren. He enjoys travel and sports, especially OSU athletics and Cleveland teams.
